Looking back at an inspiring online RSNN workshop

News News

Tuesday's (November 17 2020) online RSNN workshop ‘Leveraging the value of collaboration - from regulatory science to regulatory innovation’ has been very inspiring. It was a strong signature of the strength of the Dutch regulatory science landscape.

Chaired by Sabine Straus (CBG-MEB) panelists from the RSNN (including regulators, industry, academia and patient representatives) and colleagues from the EMA discussed topical issues in regulatory science and innovation. Also recent tangible results from regulatory science work from the RSNN community were presented.

Highlights were, among many other exciting discussions, regulatory preparedness, pacing dynamics between innovation and regulation, patient alignment, regulatory science as vehicle for capacity building and clinical trial innovation. The EMA Regulatory Science Strategy, presented by Tony Humphreys, is seen as a very inspirational roadmap for future work and collaboration also in the context of European funding opportunities and stakeholder alignment.

RSNN chairman Bert Leufkens:  ‘This workshop showed how the ecosystem of the regulatory science in the Netherlands has become mature over the last decade and how important the platform of the RSNN is to synergize and deliver’.
